The chief responsibility of the coroner is to determine the cause of death in cases involving
- Violence
- Casualty
- Unexplained or suspicious circumstances
- Or when a person has been found deceased
Duties of the County Coroners
Duties of the County Coroners include:
- Identification of the deceased
- Determination of the cause of death
- Determination of the manner of death
The County Coroner is on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
