Guidelines

Home Detention guidelines are set by statue under 35-38-2.5-6 which states that participants are confined to his/her home at all times except when the participant is: 

  • Attending educational institution or a program approved for the participant by the Court
  • Attending a regularly scheduled religious service at a place of worship
  • Participating in community service
  • Undergoing 
    • Counseling 
    • Medical treatment
    • Mental health treatment
    • Psychiatric treatment
    • Other treatment programs approved by the Court
  • Unemployed and seeking employment (the participant is allowed to do this 3 times per week in 4 hour intervals)
  • Working at employment approved by the Court or traveling to or from employment

Participants on Home Detention do receive earned good time credit according to statute.
