What Areas Need Broadband?

Posted on September 29, 2022 at 2:55 PM by Erica Cline

Are you a resident of Jefferson County with poor or even worse, no internet at your home or business?  The Jefferson County Broadband Task Force wants to fix these issues and is actively pursuing programs that will benefit broadband in Jefferson County for long-term development. These Federal and State funded programs are rapidly being released to address these important issues.  The programs that assist residents, businesses, and even local internet service providers (ISP) use mapping tools.  These mapping tools show which areas are in the highest need.  The higher the need, the higher the chance an area gets funded for broadband expansion.  There are multiple ways Jefferson County residents can increase the data on these maps to attract awareness to this frustrating issue.  Visit the Indicators of Broadband Need map.  Is your area in red?  If, so you may qualify for assistance.  Communicate your need by:

  • Conducting a speed test at your location. *When doing this on a cell phone, put the phone in “WIFI Mode” to test the speed of the actual internet connection.

  • Call the Indiana Broadband Connect Center at 833-639-8522

Create an account and submit the lacking internet address to the Next Level Connections portal

Visit the Jefferson County Broadband Booth at the 4-H Fair!

Posted on July 13, 2022 at 3:42 PM by Erica Cline

Come visit Jefferson County's Broadband Booth at the Jefferson County 4-H Fair!  We are stationed with our Indiana Farm Bureau friends inside their booth.  Come get some tasty cool ice cream and check out what broadband and digital inclusion awareness means for our community. A member of the Jefferson County Taskforce Team will be there periodically to happily answer your broadband questions throughout the evening. The fair ends Friday, but this info will only be there through Thursday. You don't want to to miss it!293753863_182633560861680_2417280981242447992_n (1)
