Genealogy Research Information
Our birth and death records here in Jefferson County Indiana start in 1882. In order for our office to do a search, a date of birth or date of death is required. If the record is located, we will in-turn forward the information contained in the record to you. Our office does charge to do a Genealogy Searches and you can download the Genealogy Fees (PDF) on this website. If a certified copy of a birth certificate is needed - the charge is $10 each or if a certified copy of a death certificate is needed - the charge is $12 each. If a non-certified copy of a birth certificate (Genealogy Information Sheet) is needed - the charge is $5 each or if a non-certified copy of a death certificate (Genealogy Information Sheet) is needed - the charge is $5 each. Fees are payable by cash, personal check or money order to the Jefferson County Health Department.
